Almond Green 1970 Morris Minor Traveller for Sale

This charming 1970 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller is finished in period-correct Almond Green with its distinctive structural ash wood body framing and a complementary green interior. Powered by the dependable 1,098cc A-Series inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, it retains the wonderfully simple character that has made the Morris Minor one of Britain's most enduring classics. The car is offered with a clear California title.

The 1,098cc A-Series inline-four starts readily, runs and idles smoothly, and delivers plenty of power for enjoyable cruising. The four-speed manual transmission shifts effortlessly through the gears, while the steering, suspension and braking feel tight and responsive, making this Traveller remarkably enjoyable and confidence-inspiring to drive.

Service records include a comprehensive inspection at 97,625 miles, during which compression was recorded at an even approximately 130 psi across all four cylinders, along with spark-plug servicing, a cooling-system pressure test, brake adjustment and road test. Shortly afterward, at 97,649 miles, $3,017.92 was spent on an extensive brake-system overhaul, including replacement of the front and rear wheel cylinders, brake shoes, springs and hardware, brake hoses, rear drums and several brake lines, along with resurfacing of the front drums and adjustment and bleeding of the system. With approximately 97,684 miles currently showing, the car has traveled only about 35 miles since that work was completed.

The engine compartment has also been thoroughly cleaned and detailed and now presents clean, tidy and largely original. On our recent drives, the Morris starts easily, runs beautifully, maintains a smooth idle, shifts cleanly and shows no visible exhaust smoke.

The Almond Green paint has a deep shine and shows well, complementing the Traveller’s distinctive exposed ash wood body framing. The glass, chrome, stainless trim, lighting and emblems present nicely, while the woodwork remains complete and gives the car its unmistakable British character. The body-color steel wheels with contrasting cream centers and chrome hubcaps are wrapped in 145/80R14 Kumho tires front and rear with good tread depth, though replacement is recommended due to age. With its upright proportions, split windshield, wood-framed rear body and twin rear cargo doors, this Traveller has a wonderfully charming and authentic period appearance.

The Porcelain Green interior is comfortable and welcoming and presents in very nice condition throughout. The front bucket seats, matching rear bench and door panels show well, complemented by green carpeting, a clean headliner and the beautifully simple body-color dashboard with its centrally mounted Smiths speedometer and original-style controls. The large thin-rimmed steering wheel and floor-mounted four-speed shifter add to the wonderfully authentic British driving experience. In back, the folding rear seat opens to a surprisingly generous cargo area accessed through the Traveller’s signature twin rear doors, while the exposed ash framing brings the distinctive wood-bodied character inside the cabin as well.

This is a unique opportunity to own a charming and increasingly collectible Morris Minor 1000 Traveller, combining unmistakable British styling, its signature ash-framed bodywork and simple, dependable mechanicals. Finished in attractive Almond Green with a beautifully preserved Porcelain Green interior, it presents as an honest, well-cared-for example with extensive recent detailing and documented service history. With its smooth-running 1,098cc A-Series engine, four-speed manual transmission and wonderfully engaging road manners, this distinctive Traveller is ready to be enjoyed by its next caretaker.
