Trafalgar Blue, Charles Ware Restoration, Extensive Records

1968 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller for Sale

Attractively Restored 1968 Morris Minor Traveller for Sale

Extensively refurbished in England in 2019 by renowned marque specialist Charles Ware’s Morris Minor Centre, this charming right-hand-drive Traveller has since developed the light, honest patina of a carefully enjoyed older restoration.

Finished in factory-correct Trafalgar Blue with contrasting ash timber body framing and blue interior trim, it is equipped with a 1098cc A-Series inline-four, four-speed manual transmission, high-capacity heater, radio/CD player, hazard warning lights and period-style appointments. Included are an exceptional collection of books, manuals, historical material, import documentation and extensive restoration and service records, along with two sets of keys and a clear California title.

The 1098cc A-Series inline-four starts easily, runs and idles smoothly with plenty of power and no visible smoke. The four-speed manual transmission shifts effortlessly through the gears, while the steering, suspension and braking feel tight and responsive, making this lightweight Traveller exceptionally fun and engaging to drive.

The extensive records document significant mechanical attention both before and after its importation, including engine bottom-end work with replacement main and connecting-rod bearings and thrust washers, electrical and wiring repairs, carburetor servicing, heater work, chassis lubrication, brake inspections, and regular oil and filter services. Most recently serviced in April 2025 at 29,479 miles, the Morris has traveled fewer than 2,000 indicated miles since 2021 and its freshly detailed engine compartment presents cleanly and tidily.

The factory-correct Trafalgar Blue paint shows nicely overall with an attractive shine and the light patina expected of an older restoration, though the hood finish is showing its age and is not to the same standard as the rest of the body. The Traveller’s signature ash timber framing is solid and presents well, while the glass, chrome, trim, lighting and emblems are clean and presentable. The cream-painted steel wheels with chrome Morris hubcaps are wrapped in 145/80R14 Bridgestone tires with good tread depth. Overall, the exterior presents as a handsome, well-kept older restoration with some honest age and character.

The blue interior is comfortable and welcoming and remains in very nice condition throughout. The upholstered front bucket seats and rear bench show well, complemented by matching door panels, blue carpeting, fitted rubber floor mats and a clean headliner. The simple painted dashboard retains its classic Smiths central speedometer and traditional switchgear, while the right-hand-drive layout and floor-shifted four-speed manual add plenty of authentic British character. Front and rear seat belts, a high-capacity heater, radio/CD player, hazard warning lights and a rear cargo cover add useful convenience. The spacious rear cargo area is clean and nicely finished, with the spare tire stored beneath the cargo floor.

This is a unique opportunity to own a charming and well-documented 1968 Morris Minor 1000 Traveller, extensively refurbished in England by renowned marque specialist Charles Ware’s Morris Minor Centre before being imported directly to California. Finished in classic Trafalgar Blue with its distinctive ash timber framing, right-hand drive and 1098cc A-Series engine, it offers an engaging and unmistakably British driving experience. Its extensive collection of restoration, service and import records adds considerably to its appeal.
