This striking 1957 Lincoln Premiere Convertible is finished in its factory-correct Bermuda Coral with a white convertible top over a factory-correct Coral, White and Black interior. Its original data plate confirms both the desirable 76B Premiere Convertible body style and this distinctive color combination. It is equipped with Lincoln's 368 cubic-inch V8, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power convertible top and power antenna, and is offered with restoration records and a clear California title.
The Lincoln benefits from wonderful long-term California provenance and a notable San Francisco connection. It was acquired by the Alioto family of Alioto’s Garage, a third-generation San Francisco automotive business founded in 1939 and a Bay Area fixture for more than eight decades. The Lincoln was restored approximately 20 years ago and remained in the Alioto family’s care for more than 25 years, adding an appealing chapter of documented ownership to this distinctive California Lincoln.
The 368 cubic-inch V8 starts readily, runs and idles smoothly with plenty of power. The automatic transmission shifts effortlessly through the gears, while the power steering, power-assisted brakes and comfortable suspension make this substantial Lincoln remarkably easy and enjoyable to drive. It cruises comfortably and delivers the smooth, effortless road manners expected of Lincoln's top-line luxury convertible.
The Bermuda Coral paint has a deep shine and shows well. Restored approximately 20 years ago, it remains very presentable with some age-related flaws and imperfections upon closer inspection. The glass, extensive chrome and stainless trim, lenses and emblems show nicely, while stacked headlights, sweeping side trim and pronounced rear fins provide unmistakable 1950s presence. Lincoln wheel covers, wide whitewall tires with good tread and a contrasting white convertible top complete the striking period appearance.
The restored interior remains in very nice condition, with attractive upholstery, carpeting, door panels, brightwork and period dashboard. The speedometer, odometer, trip odometer, fuel gauge, clock, turn signals, wipers, power windows and antenna work. A working under-dash temperature gauge replaces the factory gauge. Currently the radio is inoperative. Spacious, quiet and exceptionally comfortable, this is a wonderful Lincoln for town or open-road cruising.
