This Really is an Amazing 1957 Cadillac Series 62 for Sale

We have a very nice original 1957 Cadillac for sale. Current owner since 1959. It was purchased from the original owner in Oakland, California where it has remained since. These are the original 109K miles!

We found this car stored in the back of a 4-car garage where it had been resting under cover for 20 years. The last time the car was registered was in 1988. This is a very well preserved two-owner Cadillac! We have receipts dating back to the early 1960's. The second owner used it as a family car for special events and outings.

Over the course of the 31 years it was registered, it was only driven an average of 3500 miles per year!

We changed the oil, re-sealed the carburetor, rebuilt the wheel cylinders, installed new plugs and a fresh, new battery. For a week prior to starting, we oiled the cylinders generously. After cleaning the tank and fuel lines, we turned the key and it started right up! The car runs smoothly and the motor is very quiet.

The car brakes well and shifts perfectly through all of the gears at all of the prescribed shift points. The 2nd owner indicated that in about 1963 or 1964 the head gasket was leaking. At that time the motor was replaced with what he believes was a very low mileage 1962 motor. (His mechanic insisted this was a better engine).

We estimate that there was only about 20K miles on the car at this point. (This assumption is based on the fact that we have repair records showing 30K miles on the car in 1970). The owner had a business with many trucks and a full-time mechanic that worked for him. The work was done by his employee.

The years spent indoors have been remarkably kind to this old Cadillac. The interior is quite impressive and only needs new carpet and a dash cover. The body is noticeably straight, void of rust and rot. The floors are rock-solid as is the trunk. Just some paint, chrome work and carpet and this should be a quite lovely Series 62. We have polished the car and it looks good from 20 feet.

THERE IS NO ROT! OTHER THAN MINOR SURFACE RUST THAT YOU SEE UNDER THE VEHICLE, THIS CAR IS ROCK-SOLID, RUST FREE AND HAS HAD NO RUST REPAIR EVER DONE! THE BODY IS EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN FOR A 50 YEAR OLD CAR AND EASILY RESTORED.

The tires need replacing as do the mufflers. With exception of the wipers and clock, the electronics all function, even the automatic trunk release. The windows go up and down but the master switch either needs cleaning or replacing. (Some don't always work). The original power antenna works.

The radio turns on but there is no sound. The water hoses should be replaced, we may take care of hoses prior to the auction ending as one of them is leaking a bit. The car runs cool and the charging system works great. No major leaks of any sort.

I have driven this car about 40 miles around the wine country since we got it on the road and it attracts a lot of attention everywhere it goes! If you're in a hurry to get some errands done, you won't want to take this car!

This is quite possibly the best preserved Series 62 out there! An easy, fun and simple project!

Thank you for visiting!
