This 1957 T-Bird we have for sale was a one-owner car until a couple of years ago when our client bought it to restore. With too many projects in the works he has decided to let it go. It has 120K original miles and had a repaint of the original color that was done sometime in the 80’s. The car is rust free, underneath and all around, a perfect candidate for freshening up with a repaint and a few mechanical tweaks. The car runs well but has an exhaust leak. It also has a slow leak in the heater box. Otherwise, it starts; runs and drives fine. The brakes function well; it has newer tires and steers straight. The front-end feels tight. It can be enjoyed “as-is” with just the two above-mentioned items addressed.
The absense of rust on the car from being in the friendly California environment has served it well. We are told that it has always been an indoor car and that certainly looks to be the case. It appears that the front-right fender had some minor damage followed by sub-standard repairs at some point and will need to be re-worked a bit. Otherwise, this car is quite straight and very solid. It won’t take much to make this a very nice driver and with prices as suppressed as they are right now, this car should appreciate nicely over the next couple of years.
Car has a hardtop only. The steering and brakes are manual. The transmission is automatic. All features including radio, lights, blinkers and heater blower are functioning with exception of the dash lights which may need a fuse or a bulb. The trunk is original and in very nice shape.
